MERRY CHRISTMAS

Gail and I want to thank everyone for the kind words and offers of help. It means a lot to us and shows how close this community of boaters are. We want to wish each and everyone of you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. There is a lot to be thankful for no matter what and the tomorrows are always exciting. We are thankful you all have become part of our family.

Good bye to the Barge

On 25th November Port Harvey suffered a major setback when our barge suffered a catastrophic damage causing it to sink. We are in the process of cleaning up the mess and trying to salvage whatever we can. Given the age of the barge (73 years) it was not able to be insured which while being a setback will not stop Gail and I from continuing on and making sure we have the Red Shoe functioning in the 2016 season. At the moment we are concentrating on the issues at hand and then will sit down and make a plan for the future which we will share with all our friends here. Gail and I feel that we have our health so this is only a set back that can be dealt with.

Our thanks to Len from Burial Cove for notifying us as we were in Alberta at the time and for his quick thinking which helped save some of the items in the Red Shoe. George is there now with Tom to help.  We are going to salvage what we can and carry on. We will update here and on our Facebook Page with our progress.

Season's end

After a very very busy season, with over 1000 boats this year, The Red Shoe is closed until next year.  Many many pizzas, fish and chips, burgers, ribs and salmon burgers were enjoyed by many of our friends.  Of course can't forget the cinni buns, sausage rolls, bread, buns, breakfast croissants and many many more bakery items!
The Port Harvey Yacht Club acquired new members.  Patrick Gill is the commodore for another year with the annual meeting being in July next year to allow more members to attend.
Not many posts happened on our blog this year as we were being spammed in the comments.  To prevent this we did not post very much.   Follow us on our facebook page.
