Memories of the adventures of two retired empty-nesters who moved to an island off of Vancouver Island. Tales of setting up a marina in the middle of somewhere.

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to all our family and friends.
We have been busy in our store in Red Earth Creek. The Seattle Boat Show will be upon us soon. George will be attending most of the show and I will attend for about the last 5 days as we cannot leave our store unattended. We anticipate a wonderful boat show experience. We look forward to seeing all our existing customers and new ones that may come along.
We hope that 2013 will be a better year with no storms during the winter to disrupt things. We may also have a new puppy come spring as in November our Bear was no longer with us. She had fallen off the deck in October and hurt her hips and never fully recovered. We believe she had cancer as well as she had quite a few lumps. She was put down in Peace River because I was determined to have George see her. He had been gone since the beginning of October. We will scatter her ashes on the dock and around the yard. She was a sweet old dog who almost made it to 14. We will miss her and we know that everyone else will as well. Her presence will always be felt on the dock.
A new grandchild will arrive in March and we are looking forward to that event. Signe will be a good big sister and will help her mom and dad.
