Canada Day Celebrations were a hit again this year. We had 19 boats at the dock and even had to turn away 2 boats. Reservations are a must for Canada Day! The Ho-Shoe tournament was a success with over 40 teams participating. Connie and Colyn (Seajay) did an outstanding job organizing the tournament which had to begin at 2:00 pm. The free chili and dogs were enjoyed by all, even though I slipped with the spices and it was quite torky!. Cap't Charlie was here, sang at Happy Hour on both June 30 and July 1, then after the Ho-shoe finals after supper, he did his regular show. Everyone mentioned they had a wonderful time. The winners of this years tournament were Dave and Marg from Journey and received Port Harvey Vests.
Thank you to all the boaters that made this such a special day. George and I were also remembering our neighbor and honoring him as this was one of his special days as he enjoyed watching the fireworks and the visiting with everyone. Of course The Red Shoe was named after Doug.
Thank you also to Mother Mary, who helped us prepare for this busy day, as well as several boaters that helped decorate and arrange chairs, tables, etc.
Our new Ice Cream freezer was also a great hit, with many drumsticks, bars and tubs being consumed on such a hot day.
